It’s Thrissur Pooram. Started in 1798 by ShakthanThampuran, the erstwhile king of Thrissur, the Pooram is held in the month ofMedam (April/May). The ten-day festival is considered to be one of the largest Asian gatherings.
Thrissur Pooram is perfectly a breathtaking experience with exciting events likeChamayam, Symphony of music at its climax, caparisoned elephants, kudamattam,fireworks etc. People from different walks of life gathered at Thrissur Round and the venue looks like a sea of human creating an exhilarating mood. ‘Grandest Spectacle of land’ Thrissur Pooram shows the secular attitude of Kerala.
